I drove Route 66 through the night to make it to Cadillac Ranch before sunrise.
I pulled in around 4:30 that morning, just in time to watch the sky start changing behind the painted Cadillacs. It is such an unusual place, sitting out in the middle of a Texas field, covered in decades of paint and stories from people passing through.
By sunrise, the colors were glowing, the shadows were stretching across the ground, and the lack of sleep was completely worth it.
Sometimes you have to keep driving through the night to make it to the light.
